星の名前に”the”は必要？
12星座や惑星は固有名詞で、冠詞をつけないのが一般的です。
一方、身近な月、太陽、地球、88星座などは普通名詞です。上記、天の川など特定し唯一性を表すために定冠詞“the”をつけます。
ちょっとブレイクタイム：天の川のお話
天の川は英語でいうと、the Milky Way、the Galaxy。正式名称は天の川銀河系。太陽系を含む銀河系の名前で、通称、天の川。この2つは必ずTheを付けて、単語の頭文字を大文字にします。名前Milky Wayの由来は諸説あり。
女神ヘラの夫、大神ゼウスは浮気性でアルクメーネーとの間に子供ヘラクレスを作ってしまいます。ヘラの母乳は不死をもたらすといわれ、ゼウスはヘラクレスにヘラの母乳を飲ませていました。ある夜、母乳を吸われる痛みで目覚めたヘラはヘラクレスを突き飛ばし、その際に飛び散った母乳が天の川になったと言われています。
