この会話のキーポイントは以下の２つです。

・I’d like to＝〜したいのですが

・make reservations＝予約をする

Clerk:  Good afternoon. How may I help you today?
Yamada: I’d like to make reservations for 4 people on a flight to Chicago.
Clerk: What day would you like to depart?
Yamada: December 24.
Clerk: One moment, please. There are openings on Flight 903 bound for Denver. You will have to make a stopover in there and transfer to Chicago on domestic flight 107. How is that?
Yamada: Perfect! Thank you.
Clerk: May I have your name, please?
Yamada: Yumi Yamada.
Clerk: How do you spell your name?
Yamada: That’s Y-U-M-I Y-A-M-A-D-A.
Clerk: Will that be business or economy class?
Yamada: Business class, please.

 

Clerk: こんにちは。どのようなご用件でしょうか。
Yamada: シカゴ行きの分を４人分予約したいのですが。
Clerk: 何日にご出発ですか？
Yamada: 12月24日

・make reservations＝予約をする。make a reservationでもOK。一人の予約でも複数形で使われることも多い

・How do you spell you name? ＝名前はどのような綴りでしょうか

Clerk: Good afternoon. How may I help you today?
Yamada: I’d like to make reservations for 7 nights.

Yamada: 2 twin rooms for 4 people.

というようにホテルの予約にも使えます。

・night(s)＝泊
・stay＝宿泊するる
・book＝予約する。bookも予約の際によく使われます。
